Prediction markets have surged in popularity in the US, but Kalshi is also available to traders in several regions around the world. However, access ultimately depends on your location, and our Kalshi review has more details.

We'll be reviewing everything about this top prediction market platform, from the markets available and how event contracts work to deposits, withdrawals, customer support, licensing, security, and the overall trading experience. We'll also show you how to make your own trades. By the end, you’ll know what to expect and whether to register at Kalshi using our on-page banners.

What is Kalshi?

Before going on with this review, it helps to explain what Kalshi is. Kalshi is a prediction market platform where you can trade on the outcome of future events in the real world. These events could be anything of importance to people, such as political decisions, sports games, elections, technology developments, economic events, and even weather conditions.

Prediction markets have Yes/No event contracts, and you choose a contract based on what you think will happen in the future. If you think the event in question will happen, you can purchase a Yes event contract. But if you think it won't, go for a No contract.

You'll find hundreds, and sometimes even thousands, of prediction markets at any given time. But you can only access these markets if you are in a location where prediction market trading is allowed. You can click the banners on this page to find out if Kalshi is available where you live.

How do Kalshi event contracts work?

Prediction markets often ask one simple question: will a real-life event happen or not? Yes and No contracts are then offered based on that outcome. Sometimes, you may also find Up/Down event contracts, especially in Kalshi crypto prediction markets where you're speculating if the price of a digital asset will go above or below a certain number.

Kalshi event contract prices range from $0.01 to $0.99. These prices don’t stay fixed, and they can change based on supply and demand as other traders buy or sell contracts in response to new information. This simply means that if traders on Kalshi think there's a high probability of an event happening, there'll be more demand for Yes contracts, and this can make the prices go up. If traders speculate that the chances are lower, the demand for Yes contracts may reduce, and the price can go down. Contract prices are a good indication of market sentiment.

For instance, if a Yes contract on Bitcoin going above $70,000 by the end of 2026 is priced at 13¢, it means the market believes that there's just a 13% chance of that happening.

Contracts settle at $1 if your predictions are correct and you realize a profit, or $0 if they are incorrect and you lose what you spent to purchase the contract. There's no middle ground. However, you don't have to wait until the event happens and the market settles. You can decide to sell your contract shares at the current market price if you prefer.

Kalshi prediction markets review

Kalshi prediction markets span 11 broad categories, from politics and elections to sports, crypto, economics, and tech and science. Most of these categories have hundreds of open prediction markets, and it's common to find some reaching thousands too.

Here's a closer look at some of the major categories of Kalshi prediction markets you can trade.

Politics

Political decisions affect everyone, so it's natural to find this as one of the most detailed sections. You can trade on the outcome of US federal, state, and international political events. Examples of markets in this category are when the US-Iran nuclear deal will take place and which country leaders will leave office this year.

Sports

The sports section is easily the busiest on Kalshi, and you can trade on the outcome of events across 20 sports, including soccer, basketball, tennis, golf, baseball, and football. You'll find live prediction markets for sporting events that are already underway and futures for longer-term events like the 2027 Pro Football Champion.

You can trade Yes or No shares on moneylines, spreads, totals, props, and a lot more. Kalshi odds don’t exist because this isn't a sportsbook where lines are set by a bookmaker. Instead, contract prices change based on other users’ trading activity, and they show what traders believe the likelihood of an event happening is.

Crypto

Crypto prices are volatile, and quite so in recent times. This makes them exciting to trade, and we've found Kalshi event contracts for 5-minute, 10-minute, 15-minute, hourly, daily, weekly, and longer-term prediction markets. These prediction markets are on major coins like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Dogecoin (DOGE), Ripple (XRP), and Binance Coin (BNB). You can trade contracts on whether Bitcoin will go over $200,000 by specific dates or when it'll hit its next all-time high.

Short term markets settle very quickly, and you can take your profit if your prediction is correct or record losses just as fast.

Culture

These markets are all about popular entertainment events, such as awards, television, collectibles, video games, music chart toppers, and more. They can be especially interesting during awards season. You’ll find predictions on the top US Netflix movie this week, 2026 Game of the Year, and a lot more.

Economy

Can you predict the number of rate cuts in 2026, or what the Fed decision on interest rates will be by the end of the month? You can trade event contracts predicting the outcomes of these and other similar events in the economy section. Top of the list are markets on GDP, global central banks, inflation, jobs, and many more.

Climate

We also found Kalshi event contracts on a range of climate prediction markets. These cover measurable environmental occurrences, including climate change, temperature, snow, rain, hurricanes and other natural disasters.

Are you based in the US?

Kalshi is the first CFTC-regulated prediction market platform, and if you’re based in the US, you can access an impressive range of prediction markets as long as you’re at least 18 years old. This covers all the afore-listed prediction categories, including US and international politics, crypto, economics, culture, climate, and sports. However, sports prediction markets may be off-limits in a few states like Nevada.

Another upside is that we spotted several flexible payment methods for US traders, as you can make deposits using debit cards, bank transfers, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, and crypto. Withdrawals start from as little as $1 and are available through debit cards and crypto.

What’s more, signing up through our on-page banners gives you access to a sign-up bonus of $55 in trades. To get this reward, you’ll have to register, get verified, and complete $25 in trades. There’s more in store too, with offers like referral bonuses and incentive program rewards for active traders.

When joining a prediction market platform for the first time, it’s normal to look out for any ongoing promotions, as they can give you more funds for your trades. The good news is Kalshi has a few ongoing rewards on offer, but what you’ll find could be different where you live.

These could range from maker rebates to referral promotions and incentive programs. To find out what you can access right now, simply click the banners on this page to see what’s available to you.

Is Kalshi easy to trade on?

Prediction markets are still fairly new in many regions, and an easy-to-use website matters because it helps traders navigate markets without hassle. The Kalshi regulated trading platform is simple to use even if you’re totally new to these markets. Contracts ask straightforward questions, the prediction markets are well categorized, and the help center has articles on a wide range of topics.

Each event contract shows its price, trading chart, volume of trades in the market, end date, and how the contract will settle. You can also chat with other traders on specific markets. We didn't experience any lag or glitches while using the Kalshi site, even when trading on fast-moving markets like Bitcoin 15-minute markets.

Download the Kalshi app and trade on the move

The website holds its own, but apps are more convenient for on-the-go trading since you don't have to stay tied to a desktop or type in the site's URL every time you want to trade. If you choose to download the Kalshi app on your iOS or Android device, you can manage your account, trade on any available market, and track contract prices with ease. But if you'd rather not download anything, the website works well.

Payment options for deposits and withdrawals at Kalshi

Trading on a CFTC-regulated prediction market site and app like Kalshi has its upsides. There's a range of secure and familiar payment options available. You can fund your account via cards such as Visa and Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and crypto.

Deposits via bank transfers, Venmo, PayPal, and Cash App are available but limited to traders based in the US. We should mention that the exact payment options you’ll find may vary based on your location, especially with crypto not allowed in all countries. Visa and Mastercard are quite convenient, but they have a 2% processing fee. Crypto may also charge small network fees, and it’s worth remembering that the minimum deposit is pegged at $10.

Visa Mastercard Apple Pay PayPal Bank Transfer ACH Bitcoin USD Coin Venmo Cash App Wire Transfer

Withdrawals at Kalshi

Withdrawals are fast and easy at Kalshi, although like deposits, the exact withdrawal options you'll find may vary based on your location. Debit card and crypto withdrawals are available to international traders, while bank transfers, PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App are mainly for users based in the US.

Debit card withdrawals are fee-free and are usually available after your contract has settled if you’re withdrawing to the same card. But if you’re taking your funds out via a different payment method, we found out that you may have to wait for two days after settlement. Crypto withdrawals may also come with a short hold period.

Customer support at Kalshi

Getting help is easy, and based on our experience, it takes just a few minutes. You can access the 24/7 live chat when logged in, although the AI support tries to help first before transferring you to a real human agent. There's also a very detailed help center with articles on just about every common question traders may have. The articles range from account-related issues to deposits, withdrawals, promotions, and the newly added Kalshi Perpetual Futures. There’s also a search bar, so you can easily type in your query and find the most relevant help.

But if you'd rather not sort through articles or don’t find what you need, live chat should be your go-to option. Email support is also available, but responses may take a few hours based on our experience.

You can also get help via the Kalshi Discord server. Simply click the icon in the website footer or in the app to join the channel.

Is Kalshi a regulated trading platform?

Kalshi is a CFTC-regulated prediction market site. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is the US regulator that oversees derivatives markets, including event contracts. However, the brand’s availability in other countries is still based on the terms of the Kalshi Member Agreement.

You’ll be asked to verify your identity when signing up, and your country of residence will also be confirmed. Access to all trading features only comes after this. As an institutional prediction platform, Kalshi adheres to strict rules on transparency, contract trading, settlement, and user protection.

Security and safety of your personal and financial data aren’t taken lightly either on the website or Kalshi app. The site is TLS encrypted, while the app supports biometric login and 2FA.
